Client Requirements

Following the rescue repair of a critical desktop PC hosting a shared database, Blue Line Taxis asked HCS to upgrade their company PCs, in order to reduce the chance of a similar incident in the future, whilst at the same time improving their performance.

What We Did

After rescuing Blue Line Taxis’ main desktop that was hosting an SQL database we advised they should think of upgrading or replacing most of their PCs. Blue Line Taxis agreed to upgrade 7 of their PCs with fast SSD drives and to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10. We also recommended that their Sage software and data would benefit from being moved to a dedicated entry level server, rather than a client PC. Blue Line Taxis agreed and we installed and relocated their data accordingly.

Conclusion

Blue Line Taxis now have reliable hardware that performs quickly and is backed up regularly.

We have subsequently migrated all of their email accounts to Microsoft’s Exchange services, improved their internet connection speeds, including adding a failover service for their 24/7, 365 day a year operating service. We continue to manage Blue Line Taxis’ IT and have since added remote connectivity, so that staff could work from home during the pandemic and installed a multi-camera NVR system.
