Client Requirements

On 10 October 2023, Windows Server will no longer receive updates, security patches, bug fixes and general support from Microsoft. Our client has third-party software that will not be testing for Windows Server 2012R2 after this date and so we were instructed to replace the old server and add a few new network points leading back to a new server cabinet.

What We Did

As a long standing customer of ours, we were able to quickly review the requirements of Select Products and proposed to add the additional network points and server cabinet, in advance of the new server installation and migration day.

Besides the third-party supplied accountancy software, we also developed a bespoke order management SQL database for Select Products. With this in mind our leading software developer was on site during the installation and migration process, to oversee and overcome any potential hiccups.

Conclusion

Once the cabling and server cabinet were installed, the server migration was completed within 6 hours, which caused very little disruption to our client. A very satisfying migration from our perspective, and an extremely happy client. We continue to support the team at Select Products and have recently customised their order management software with new exciting features.
